Warranty Policies

At Slaughter we expect each of our Electrical Safety Testers to provide years of reliable service. We pride ourselves in providing our customers outstanding products, service and support.

New Product Warranty and 3 Year Extendable Warranty

All of our products are covered by a standard one-year warranty. Our product warranties guarantee that our products will be free from defects in material and workmanship and we will repair or replace any such product we find to be defective.

Our standard warranty is able to be extended for a period of up to 3 years. Extending your product warranty is easy. Simply return it to us for its annual calibration and we will extend the warranty for an entire year until its next annual calibration is required. This can be done for three consecutive years. Other than the calibration and shipping charges there are no costs for this warranty.

Our instruments require annual calibration and by taking advantage of our service you will be able to have your instrument worked on by our expert technicians while at the same time extending your warranty. Our rates are very competitive and with the extension of your warranty it is your best value.

2 Year and 3 Year Pre-Paid Warranties

We also offer the opportunity to purchase a 2 or 3 year pre-paid warranty for those customers who are unable to take advantage of our 3 year extendable warranty plan. This plan will protect you in case of failure or defects just as our standard warranty however that protection is for 2 or 3 years depending on the plan purchased. It also includes your annual calibration however this is not required for the extended warranty.

If your instrument fails during this period simply return it to us and we will take care of the rest. Just as our standard one year warranty this includes parts, labor and return shipping. We also provide annual calibration and checkup during each year of the coverage.

Terms:
The plan coverage period shall begin on the original date of shipment of the instrument. Slaughter Company will repair any covered product upon its prepaid return to us. This plan is void if the product has been tampered with, or subjected to gross misuse.
All new instruments are calibrated prior to shipment from our facility. Calibrations are valid for a period of one year. If your instrument is sent back for its first calibration Slaughter Company will extend the product warranty for an additional year. This can happen for a total of three consecutive years.
Instruments covered by the pre-paid two-year plan are eligible for one annual calibration in addition to the original factory calibration. Instruments covered by the pre-paid three-year plan are eligible for two annual calibrations in addition to the original factory calibration. We will calibrate a covered instrument at twelve-month increments, as described above, upon its prepaid return to us.
Slaughter Company will provide prepaid return to the customer's facility in the continental USA for instruments returned to us during the coverage period. The return method will be at the discretion of Slaughter Company. Instruments returned for repair and found to be in proper working order may be subject to a shipping and handling fee.

The 3 year extendable warranty and both pre-paid warranties are available to North American customers only. Except as provided herein, Slaughter Company makes no warranties to the purchaser of this instrument and all other warranties, expressed or implied (including, without limitation, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose) are hereby excluded, disclaimed and waived.
Any non-authorized modification, repair, tampering or physical damage will void your plan. Elimination of any connections in the earth grounding system or bypassing any safety systems will void this plan. This plan does not cover accessories not of Slaughter Company manufacture. Parts subject to wear, such as test probes and leads, are not covered by this plan, except where they are deemed to have a manufacturing defect within 90 days of the original shipment of the instrument.
Slaughter Company, Inc. certifies that our instruments are calibrated using standards that are traceable to the National Institute of Technology (NIST). Most safety compliance agencies such as UL recommend that your instruments be calibrated on a 12 month cycle.
